Zeybekoglu’s paintings explore shifting spatial relationships and color tensions. Many of his works take years to complete. An initial structural under layer is re-visited with multiple layers of marble dust, latex and acrylic. Scratching and peeling of those layers expose original patina and decay, and suggest a visual rethinking of the past, a reconciliation with the present.

Ilhan Zeybekoglu holds a MArch degree from Harvard Graduate School of Design. Concurrent with his award-winning international architectural practice, he has painted all of his professional life. He lives and works in Boston.
